The legend behind this stone is that when Jesus was crucified, he had green jasper beneath him. The drops of blood made this type of green jasper turn "spotted" with red, the color of blood. There are different places in the world you can get this stone. It is very dark, but you can easily see places of red, that does look like splattered blood. I am interested if any of you know anything about these beads and their history. I have a few strands, and although they are a little darker than usually worn at Easter, it would be such a special thing to wear these stones during Holy Week and Easter. I have found some of the legend on google, but before I try to sell the stone as such I would like to make sure about the accuracy of the legend.
I am not a very good photographer, but if you click on the pictures, you can get a closer look.
