Last week was nice not having a routine. The kids didn't have anything going on and it felt like summer vacation. It all goes back to normal this week. We realized yesterday just how little time we have left before school starts. We are looking forward to football season, but not the school part!
I am not a morning person. I would function much better if school started at 9:00. At least Sydney will be able to get her and Shane to school and I just have to take Stratton. We just have to get her a car first.
I am a bundle of nerves every time she leaves the house. Now, we are researching which cars are the safest, pros and cons of each, it is hard because I really don't want to put her in anything less than a tank.
I have a really good friend who told me one time that the first time her oldest drove away from home with her other two in the car with her she just thought, "There goes my whole life in that car."
I had that feeling yesterday. They were all three about to leave to do something and you know what I did. I said, "You know what, I am not doing anything I will ride with y'all."
This is not going to be easy for me when she has her own car at all!
A close friend of the family is striking out on his own. If you've ever considered self employment, this blog provides some great insight into what it's like.
