My Mom and Brother In Law's Birthday Party

I am so blessed with my family.  I live on the same street with my brother and his family, my parents, and my sister and her family.  Between me, my sister, and brother we have 11 kids from 2 years old to 19 years old.  There are 4 girls and 7 boys.  My brother has twin boys and his little girl and my sister's younger daughter were born two weeks apart.  It is a lot of fun.  Loud.    But a lot of fun.

You would think that with this many kids a couple of them might get kind of lost or be shy, but we have 11 very different, very vibrant personalities.  My sister, her husband, my brother, and his wife go above and beyond for my kids.  They aren't lacking anything not having their dad around because everyone makes sure they are there for them.  I also work very hard at my relationship with each of my nieces and nephews.  I couldn't love them more or know them better if they were mine.  And, all of these kids are more like brothers and sisters than cousins.  They even fight like brothers and sisters at times.  If you didn't know who belonged to who and you had all of them in a room playing, you could never guess who are siblings and who are cousins.

We have such a good time.  Birthdays are no exception.  Birthdays are also very frequent with this many people!  We celebrated my Mom's birthday yesterday.  She shares her birthday with my sister's husband.  They have had many shared about 30!  Me and my sister grew up with her husband and brother and they were childhood sweethearts.  Our families would go on vacation together and have spent most of their birthdays in Daytona.  It is hard to all be on vacation at the same time now, but my sister did get them a beach themed cake!  I just think it is really special that my mom and brother in law share a birthday.  It is funny because my sister and her husband have just always loved each other and me and his brother were always like brother and sister.  We fought like brother and sister, but I had a true friend and best friend growing up and in high school and we are still very close.  (By the way, he lives on the street next to ours!)

My mom and dad can't get enough of all of these grand kids!  I always joke that me, my sister, and brother have them surrounded and we have multiplied.  But, they wouldn't have it any other way!  I made my mom a sign for Mother's Day that I think it says it all.

My parents could travel and do anything they want to, but they stay right here going to ball games and enjoying all of these kids.  My parents were very young when they had me, my sister, and brother so our kids are very fortunate to have VERY young grandparents.  My mom's parents live just a few miles up the road so they are very involved and don't miss a thing!

Above is the good picture of my mom with all of the kids.  We have to bribe them with the one below to get the good one!  My mom cracks me up.  She just gets right in there with them and does whatever makes them happy!  Love her!

Looks like you guys have a great time together! Very cool! Family is such a blessing (even when cousins are fighting!)!
